Talk:Deposit rates

From finiki, the Canadian financial wiki

I'm not sure the finiki rate tables or individual rate cites (rather than links) are that useful in what appears to be a fast-changing environment. --Shakespeare 18:25, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

In part, I agree. The individual rate cites are impossible to keep current because there are too many of them. The true value in those pages is all of the other info which is not often easy to find. I think that we should leave the table for the time being. I want to fiddle a bit to see if I can make it easier to maintain (which doesn't necessarily mean that it will be maintained. ;) )--yielder 20:53, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Proposed for deletion

I don't understand what purpose this article currently serves. Looking at its history (example from 2009), it seems that the original intent was to present a table with the best HISA rates. But that table no longer appears in the article (presumably it was too much work to maintain, and rates are readily available elsewhere). Instead, we read that "Current rates for many HISA accounts can be found at Cannex or Canadian high interest savings account: Comparison chart". But that information is already included in the HISA article. So I suggest that we delete this article.--Quebec 12:45, 25 November 2021 (MST)

This page should not be deleted because external sites link to this page. Instead, the page content can be changed to redirect readers to High-interest savings account. I recommend revising the HISA page to incorporate the content of Deposit rates as appropriate. Then, point the redirect to that revision. --LadyGeek 19:40, 25 November 2021 (MST)
I've looked at the HISA page and it already contains all the relevant links from "Deposit rates". Can you proceed with the redirect? Thanks! --Quebec 11:36, 27 November 2021 (MST)
Yes check.png Done The prior revision contained a description with links to Cannex and Canadian high interest savings account: Comparison chart. The page also linked to Savings account, which has been recently updated. I assume this update replaces the (now removed) content from Deposit rates. --LadyGeek 11:50, 27 November 2021 (MST)
