Tax advantage section confusing

I find the "Tax advantage" section rather confusing. Let's say I'm a middle income earner and I expect my retirement income tax rate to be less than my current (working years) tax rate. Should I invest in my RRSP, my TFSA, or my non-reg account? The section does not tell me... --Quebec 20:10, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

I had a go, still needs work. --Quebec 16:42, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
I'll take a look this week. IIRC from FWF discussions there is some disagreement on the math of the long term benefits of RRSP tax deferral. --Peculiar Investor 12:37, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
It reads better with the new information added. However I would suggest a bit of a rethink on the purpose and structure of the article. From my perspective the core objective of the article is information that is specific to RRSPs, what they are, who can contribute, what can they hold, tax implications, etc. The section(s) about tax advantages and comparisons with other types of investment accounts such as TFSA, non-registered should likely be either a) at the end of the article or b) covered at a high level only such as the current first paragraph of the section RRSP or another account? and then point to other main articles such as Prioritizing investments and/or TFSAs versus RRSPs.--Peculiar Investor 17:50, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
Do we need a "RRSP versus non-registered account" article then? --Quebec 22:16, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
Two things. First, I have re-organized the sections to hopefully improve the article flow. There were two sections about contributions so I combined them. I moved the "RRSP or other account" section to the end. Second, I am still pondering the suggestion about another article, although we already have the Prioritizing investments and TFSAs versus RRSPs that cover most of the ground. There is also Tax-efficient investing that covers some of the same information. At this point I'm tempted to leave things as is but I reserve the right to reconsider. I remain open to viewpoints and/or edits from others. --Peculiar Investor 15:10, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
