Maybe need update examples with TFSA? Or just it is same as RRSP?

Any thoughts?

Examples 1 to 4 have been left mostly as is, because they show a nice progression from a simple to progressively more complex portfolio split between a RRSP and a non-registered account. However, new examples have been added that include TFSAs.--Quebec 12:47, 30 January 2020 (UTC)

Justin Bender update

I don't know what reference this update refers to; the cited blog, or the External links section?

Are you confused? The external links below should help. Justin Bender has calculated the "total cost" of several Canadian-domiciled ETFs investing in international stocks, showing the effect of the two layers of withholding taxes[1].

If it's the former, I recommend rewording:

I will add the word "Also" before "Justin" and I think this will clarify the text. I.e. reader must see the external links; also Justin ... --Quebec 16:46, 6 December 2014 (MST)

Yes, that helps. I added a link to "External links". --LadyGeek 18:53, 6 December 2014 (MST)

Do article need section about US estate tax considerations?

Many FWF discussions, for example US estate taxes and Canadian mutual funds, discuss whether Canadian investors should structure their security selections with consideration to potential exposure to US estate taxes. This doesn't seem be covered in the wiki as far as I can find, so maybe we need a section in this article to cover the high level considerations. --Peculiar Investor 07:59, 25 January 2015 (MST)

The four-component portfolio example puts US equity preferentially in the RRSP, but CCP chooses to put international equity preferentially in RRSP: http://canadiancouchpotato.com/2013/10/30/making-smarter-asset-location-decisions/ I'd like to see a discussion about this choice.

Any thoughts?
