Auto or fixed width?

Curious on why change from width:auto to width:225px? Why not let the elements of the template determine the width? If fixing the width, how does one determine the size to set? --Peculiar Investor 12:27, 19 December 2014 (MST)

The width is a judgment call based on the relation to the image size. I thought Guaranteed Investment Certificate was a bit too wide. Compare to the previous version in which the GIC entry takes attention away from the rest of the menu. width:225px was determined experimentally - I use it in the Bogleheads wiki. --LadyGeek 13:11, 19 December 2014 (MST)
