Talk:Outline for mid-life investors

From finiki, the Canadian financial wiki

Naming convention of outline articles

The goal here was to create a series of outline type articles along the lines of life events[1] or periods of a person's life. Choosing article names and describing them is the challenge, as the recent changes to the lead-in section of this particular article demonstrates. Is there a better idea? The objective with outline articles comes from Wikipedia's sentence "Outlines on Wikipedia are stand-alone lists designed to help a reader learn about a subject quickly, by showing what topics it includes, and how those topics are related to each other." They are not expected to be detailed articles, just pointers to the details elsewhere in the wiki. --Peculiar Investor 08:46, 17 January 2021 (MST)

Wikipedia's Baby boomers offers some insight about the concept of demographic cohorts, but rather than baby boomer, Gen X, millennials, etc. the objective is more generic towards stages of ones personal finance and investing lifetimes. Does that help clarify what the intension of this series of articles? I've reached out in Financial Wisdom Forum topic: "Stages of personal finance and investing" to crowd-source some ideas from the FWF community. --Peculiar Investor 09:05, 17 January 2021 (MST)
About this being an "outline" article and what this is supposed to mean on Wikipedia: I did not know about this. Regardless of what Wikipedia says, does the current content and format work for you? If not, go ahead and change it!--Quebec 12:55, 17 January 2021 (MST)
Yes the work you've done to change the content and format makes sense and is consistent with the article's intention to help a reader learn about a subject quickly, by showing what topics it includes, and how those topics are related to each other. --Peculiar Investor 07:11, 18 January 2021 (MST)
