Talk:Preferred shares

From finiki, the Canadian financial wiki

I have drafted the outline and the start of an article on preferred shares on Gus's Scratch Pad.

Comments and criticism would be welcome.

Since the page is still your draft, I commented there.--Shakespeare 03:46, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
Not anymore. This is good enough to move into production which I've just done. That'll allow other editors to join in.--yielder 13:40, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

reference

I got the figure "more than 200" pref issues from Globe Investor Gold (there are actually 273, but a handful of issues seem defunct) and it's possible to filter the list by industry, which is where I got the "more than two-thirds" proportion of financial stocks. I couldn't post that site as a public reference because it requires a subscription. The PrefInfo list isn't easily countable (although it's a goldmine, of course) and it's not explicitly clear which industry the various issuers are in. If anyone has better references -- or better figures -- please update this.--Gus 01:01, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Looks good. Remember to remove the [[Category:Citation Problems]] flag at the bottom of the page when the last problem is fixed.--yielder 03:05, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

I think some distinction should be indicated in the table between the ETFs and the actively-managed MAPF. As it stands, the table is misleading.--Shakespeare 14:19, 22 November 2012 (MST)
