User talk:Peculiar Investor/Investment advisor

From finiki, the Canadian financial wiki

We have a large article about "financial advisors". Are you sure we need a new one on Investment advisors? --Quebec 01:06, 11 February 2023 (UTC)

I am aware of that article. I have been tracking The Globe and Mail's recent 101 series and yesterday they posted "Are investment advisers worth it? What advisers offer, minimum investments and more". The Globe and Mail.. Searching for "investment advisor" does not find an obvious article on the subject. which prompted the potential article creation. I did ponder just creating a redirect to financial advisor which still might be the best solution.
A second factor is the financial advisor article is comprehensive however it seems a bit longish to me. I periodically look at Long pages and Wikipedia's thoughts in Wikipedia:Article size to give consideration on whether or not to consider breaking it into smaller articles or spinning part of it out into a new article. As you might have noticed I recently spun out Types of financial advice from financial advisor.
Lastly, as well as all the background effort on templates, modules etc. the real objective is to grow the content of the wiki. A somewhat unfortunate wiki statistic is all pages in the wiki, including talk pages, redirects, etc. totals 3000+ while there are currently only 257 content pages.
That is my line of thinking and why it is tagged as a potential article at this time. --Peculiar Investor 13:25, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
I like what you've done with the extraction of Types of financial advice, which works well as a standalone article. But for "Investment advisor" I would just create a redicrect to financial advisor, which includes all sorts of advisors including those specializing in investments.--Quebec 14:07, 13 February 2023 (UTC)
