Broken links

Immediate or life annuities

There is a long quote from annuitybrokers.ca in this section. But the link is dead. The closest I can find is this, but it is not the same content, so is not an acceptable source for the quote. Not sure what to do about this. I will flag the link as dead. --Quebec 15:05, 25 February 2017 (MST)

General cleanup needed

A general cleanup is needed for this article. All links should be checked, many are probably dead. The tax information is out of date, etc. This article needs some love.--Quebec 14:06, 25 January 2021 (MST)

Agreed but the challenge is the lack of expertise and discussion on FWF to help. Do we have any statistics to indicate how many Canadians, particularly do-it-yourself investors, use annuities? Perhaps making a general request to help improve the article via a FWF post might trigger a review and some ideas on what changes are required and some current references that could be used. --Peculiar Investor 06:04, 26 January 2021 (MST)
As a start, I checked all external links; I flagged 3 as dead and updated 6 broken ones. Re your question on statistics, F. Vetese admits that annuities are not popular in Canada. But economists and actuaries think they should be.--Quebec 12:38, 26 January 2021 (MST)
For future efforts on external links, I've used Broken Link Checker Tool - Dead Link Checker for link checking in the past. It works reasonable well. --Peculiar Investor 12:49, 26 January 2021 (MST)
