Talk:Annuity/Archive 1

From finiki, the Canadian financial wiki

I am not sure if you would like to place a link to the Ifid Annuity Payout Index, which has historical weekly data on average life annuity payout rates going back to 2000. You might also want to read the linked research paper explaining the Implied Longevity Yield (ILY). Here is the link: Payout Annuity Index,Ifid. --Blbarnitz 01:22, 5 March 2012 (MST)

Looks very useful. Thank you.--Shakespeare 08:53, 5 March 2012 (MST)

You need to make a distinction between payout annuities and accumulation annuities. What you have here is pretty much about payout annuities so really it is a matter of adding the other. Also, I believe your terminology is incorrect: it is not back-to-back annuities (implies more than one annuity) but insured annuities to describe the annuity plus life insurance strategy. Also, under taxation, RRSPs and RRIFs can be converted to annuities to continue tax deferral.

Any thoughts on how to address this feedback?

Neither on this page or the page about "How to buy an annuity" does it say if you give cash or the contents (stock, bonds, GIC, etc) to the company providing the annuity. The very basics are valuable.

Any thoughts?
