finiki:Feedback walkthrough/3

Dealing with good feedback

finiki has many readers, but only a tiny percentage of them edit. Article feedback is a way of engaging readers and letting them make productive contributions on the fly.

If you've found a useful suggestion, there are several things you can do. At the most basic level, you can hit the "mark as helpful" button underneath the suggestion, which looks like a thumbs-up. This marks the feedback as helpful and makes it appear more prominently to other editors in some filters.

If you are an editor and think the suggestion is worth promoting, you can also hit the "Feature this post" button in the toolbar on the right of the page. This makes the suggestion appear even more prominently to other editors, increasing the chance it will be included.

On the same subject - what do you do if you see a great comment and you're an article writer in the same field? If you see a suggestion worth including, include it! If it's a question about something unclear in the article, provide clarity - if it's an idea for something that should be incorporated into the article's text, add it in.

If you see a "featured" suggestion, you'll note that a new button appears in the toolbar - "Mark as resolved". Once the suggestion has been incorporated into the article, you can click this button to signify to other editors that it has been dealt with. If you've added things based on feedback that is not featured, simply feature it and this "Mark as resolved" button will appear.
